Demotivational poster
So at my old job, pretty much the only perks were:
- Low wages
- Free beer (once a month)
- My own office
Well during my last few months there, I finally was transferred to the Linux team. My friends from my old team still came to my office to shoot the shit, and apparently one of them had the exact same office a year or two before I did. The first time he came into my office, he looked behind my shelf for something he had left there. I was surprised when he found it still there (I suppose the previous occupant of the office had never bothered to check back there):
Apparently, a former employee had convinced him earlier to order one of these posters online. Since our Orwellian employer had motivational posters in the dining areas and recruiting offices, my friend had been worried about the message that this particular decoration would send to management. Since I was secretly hoping to get fired, I immediately put the poster up (after making sure that he didn't want it, of course).
The company did provide posters for us, which I think they got for free from clients. Most of the posters were for cars, which is not bad. The problem was that we didn't actually get to see the poster before the admins put it up in our offices (I know, because I asked them). All that we were told in advance of our selection was the poster's dimensions and it's title (i.e. "Mustang," etc). I think I got a Viper or something on mine, so I immediately opened up the frame and stuck a Spider-man poster in there. Haha, suckers.
